Here are some pics that elizabeth arnott (twitter @itselizabethj) took at the Waterfront Cafe in Chicago on 9/2.
Elizabeth's tweets about the show:
"so the show was at the Waterfront Cafe, which is an amazing location North of Chicago. The stage backed up to the lake."
"Crystal arrived around 530 with Tony. Tony was sleeping and she just rolled in with him in the stroller. She knew a lot of people there, which I would assume to be old friends. There were only a couple of fans that showed up. It was really chill and Crystal just hung out with everyone there like it was no big deal. The opener guy went on at 6 and then around 645 Brian Walker went on. He can siiiiingg. I really enjoyed his set and he played "Up To The Mountain" and before he started he was like "now some people cover this song much better than I do!" "
"the whole set Crystal was in the audience holding Tony and singing along and being totally supportive. There was a playground next to the cafe, and I think that all the kids/parents recognized her at one point and waiting outside the patio entrance for her. They kind of bombarded her at several points of the night. She signed for them though. Towards the end of Brians set, Crystal sang 3 songs with him featuring little Tony! lol"
"after Brian's set, Crystal got up and sang 3 originals! It was so exciting to be able to be one of the firsts to experience her originals since Idol! I will upload video's later! After her set, all of those playground kids rushed at her with some other fans that showed up. She seemed really overwhelmed I felt bad! She said she would sign anything but she didn't want to take pics. That show was kind of in memory of one of their close friends that had passed, so it was not the best of times."
"I kind of hung back until she was free to say hi/bye and in the meantime I talked to Brian Walker. He was a cool guy. We small talked and I told him to get on an album now! Lol Then I walked up to Crystal and said "hey, I know this is crazy so I just wanted to say Hi and I will see you in 2 weeks at your next event!" And she was like "oh hey! Elizabeth, right?" And I was like "yep!" And then we talked about the last time we saw each other/ how I couldn't go to the Toledo show, she gave me a hug, said it was nice to see me again! That's the end!"
