Crystal's story really touched me because I too was bullied in school, through elementary and junior high school. It was mostly because I was skipped a grade and went from first grade to third grade - I was a year younger than everyone in my class, and went to a gifted program once a week so I was branded for that. I was tripped in the hallways, pushed off swings on the playground, had gum thrown in my hair, etc. I can honestly say though, that I was lucky because my parents gave me unconditional love and support, and even through the worst of the bullying I never once considered suicide. However, it took me years to get over what happened to me, and even today I have moments of self-doubt and loathing that can find their origins in the bullying I went through as a child. Good on Crystal for speaking out and trying to help today's youth!
