"That wasn’t a problem for season runner-up Crystal Bowersox, who was captivating throughout her four-song set. With a powerhouse voice, she nailed song’s like Melissa Etheridge’s “Come to My Window” and “Piece of My Heart,” a staple of female rock that was popularized by Janis Joplin and covered by everyone from Etheridge to Faith Hill. Bowersox made the song all her own, resisting the urge to growl it out, and giving it some surprising vulnerability. How Bowersox came in second is a mystery. Clearly, she’s the one to watch. "
